1. Yes, that’s true, but … sometimes it’s worth it!

2. Nice shot, but I’m not a big morel fan. WAY too hard to clean adequately, and they can be literally stuffed with insects, particularly ants. Ick. I’ll take chanterelles over morels 10 times out of 10.

3. I thought so! Hard not to eat them all, slathered in cream, right? To heck with low cholesterol.

4. I usually dry them (and store the dried morels in the freezer, to prevent pantry moths from eating them up) — but last year I ate them all fresh. Too bad, because the dried ones have a deeper flavor that goes well with winter dishes.

5. Yes, sure, for fresh. But what about dried? Gonna cut a deal?

6. You’ll have to wait ’til April, I’m afraid.
