The thoughtful soul to solitude retires.
~ Omar Khayyam
Solitude is the time when the mask falls off, when the soul reveals itself. What’s behind the mask emerges, free to fly, free to be.
[Note:Today’s word/photo prompt is “Solitude.” I am doing a sort of photo challenge at WordPress.com to get back into photography, which has gone on the back burner since I’ve had so many vision issues.]

Thank you for your very kind words here, Cindy!
Dear Merril, yes, this occurred to me suddenly. Like you, I like these seemingly simple challenges, they’re anything but simple, as I know you know, because they call us to think and reflect, something that’s not always on our agendas. This forces me to look deeper, as do your posts. For those who might read this, please look at Merril Smith’s work, poetry and history, what better combination: https://merrildsmith.wordpress.com/
The mask flying off–I love this idea for solitude. I never would have come up with something like this!
