  1. Nice shot, but I’m not a big morel fan. WAY too hard to clean adequately, and they can be literally stuffed with insects, particularly ants. Ick. I’ll take chanterelles over morels 10 times out of 10.


  2. I usually dry them (and store the dried morels in the freezer, to prevent pantry moths from eating them up) — but last year I ate them all fresh. Too bad, because the dried ones have a deeper flavor that goes well with winter dishes.
