inaugural-2009-willard-hotel1Starting tomorrow, after tonight’s dinner at the Willard Hotel, “Gherkins & Tomatoes” will share every tiny crumb possible with readers about G&T’s food experiences during the inaugural frenzy in Washington, DC.

A most pressing concern is how to get some food into the VIP area for the Swearing-In ceremony on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. It will be a long time between a dawn’s-early-light breakfast in the hotel room and lunch at The Fourth Estate at the National Press Club.

For, yes, G&T ended up with two of Senator Jim Webb’s rare 393 tickets — giving true meaning to the rhetoric about an open, accessible inauguration, truly one of We the  People.
