I have read this book! Not in French, though. After being being disappointed from joining a book club that had already read Hedgehog, I found this one at the library, and thought I would use it to take a dip into Barbery's style. My mind reeled a bit at the beginning with all the switching, but settled into the pattern several chapters in. Few of the philosophical references hit their mark for me I'm afraid, being brought up an American, but I did enjoy the skill of the writing and the strength of the exquisite passions!
